"Have You Seen the Owl Today?"

Welcome to the Union Elementary Wise Owl!  We hope that you enjoy this new way of learning what's going on at UES!

INTERNATIONAL WALK TO SCHOOL WEEK!  It was great to have Josiah and Pasquale join me last Friday morning walking to school!  Thanks to Bill Merrilees for coordinating this project, and I hope we can continue encouraging our students to walk to school!  Look on the Wise Owl for future "Walk to School Days" coming up!

Mr. Hennessey with Paquale, Josiah, and some very cool 6th graders!

ECO DAY FUN!  Have you ever wondered what Union students do on their ECO days?  Take a look at the outstanding experiential learning experience Ms. Closter and Ms. Wrigley provided for their students last week on this video (you can also see it on Ms. Closter's blog):

RIDDLE OF THE DAY

What do you call bears with no ears?

Thursday's riddle:  What is even smarter than a talking bird?   (Answer:  a spelling bee!)

DID YOU KNOW?  ...that the Boston Red Sox are in the World Series for the third time in ten seasons?  Before they finally won the championship in 2004, the Red Sox had only been to the World Series three times in fifty seven seasons!  Do you know what seasons these were and who they played?

Shane Victorino gets it done!
