JUMP ROPE FOR HEART! From Ms. Jennings and Mr. Williams: "Last Month in physical education class your child learned about the importance of the heart and how to take care of it through the Jump Rope For Heart program. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT! Your child should feel proud for making a difference in peoples lives. UES raised $ 8,935.66 to support the American Heart Association’s research and education initiatives that save lives in our community. We hope you are as excited as we are in our effort to make a difference with our funds raised. IT TAKES A HEART TO BE A HERO!!"

THE 2015 PUPPET RESIDENCY Once again, the UES community was treated to a wonderful puppet and theater experience when the 3rd grade showed off their incredible puppetry skills last week! Their performance of Mimi's Village was highly entertaining and very well done! Thanks as always to the talented staff of the No Strings Marionette group for working with our students and giving them such a memorable experience! Some highlights:
BUS MONITOR NEEDED! Bus 24 is in need of an afternoon bus monitor from now until the end of the year. If your child rides the bus and/or you'd like to make a few extra dollars, we'd love to hear from you!
THE "COUNSELOR'S CORNER" School Counselor Suzanne Francke asked that I share her Counselor's Corner Facebook page with you. Here is the link:
The page was designed to provide information to parents, staff and others interested in Elementary School Counseling and topics that relate to young children. Let us know what you think!

* 5th grader Sam Watson in Mrs. Pierce's class, who availed himself with honor at the Vermont State Scripps Spelling Bee last month at St. Michael's College! Sam made it through seven very tough rounds against the top spelling competition in the state. We get the sense that Sam's future as a spelling master is just beginning!
